This vocational training provided is to be used a guide for yoga teachers or those with a practice of yoga to enable them to set out in teaching children’s yoga. The student/teacher can be fully qualified in teaching yoga and been teaching adults already for some time however individuals who have been practicing yoga personally are most welcome. This then allows the practitioner/teacher to have a knowledge of yoga already. A background in working with Children will certainly help, though not compulsory as we help you learn those skills also. The course will include the following areas of study:
➢ Introduction on Why Yoga for Children and its benefits. Age range outline 3-6yrs, and 7-12yrs. 8 Limbs of Yoga and How it is used in Classes, Safeguarding in Children’s Yoga Classes, Class Structure and what generally goes into classes. An outline of Special Needs
Yoga and how to incorporate those with additional needs into a mainstream class.
➢ Postures, Alphabet Yoga & Partner Yoga. Postures with descriptions and diagrams. Anatomy and Physiology in Children, the main areas of concern.
➢ Class Themes and ideas for Class. Yoga and Religion and how it fits in. Ideas for a ‘non-yoga’ class.
➢ Yoga & Stories – ideas for classes. Massage usage in class – a nice touch.
➢ Yoga Breathing, Relaxations, & Affirmations – ideas for classes. \Chakras, Mantras, Chants & Mudras, an introduction and ideas/techniques for classes.
➢ The Early Years Framework and the Primary Curriculum and how Yoga fits in.
➢ Marketing and Promoting yoga classes. Music to use and layout of class.

EVALUATION PROCEDURE and GRADING CRITERIA
- Assignments- 1 assignment given at the end of the training and/or during.
- Multiple tasks throughout the weekends of training, showing students ability to practice postures and techniques.
- Observational class assessment - trainee will be assessed on them teaching a class plan including techniques leant on training.
- Multiple questions based on the weekend including on Anatomy & Physiology, for the student to complete at home and send in 1-2 months after onsite training has completed. Questions based on the training weekends but also encourage students extra research and evidence.
